BOHO Décor understands that providing students with learning “real life” experiences, and opportunities beyond the classroom are incredibly beneficial for the next generation of designers. These sessions enhance their knowledge with practical applications, besides theoretical concepts. It helps the student toward deeper thinking processes while developing their own design concepts.

Recently, BOHO Décor’s representative, Ms. Pascale Dang – a Senior Advisor of BOHO Décor Interior Design Department with over 30 years+ of international experience and the mastermind behind many of BOHO’s successful projects – shared her extensive expertise with students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture (UAH) on the morning of May 30, 2024.

The talk show, themed “Emerging the World of Interior Design Styles and Trends into Vietnam?” covered the elements that make a design timeless. While trends can introduce fresh perspectives, the key to success is to unlocking the brand, communicate the story, and celebrate its uniqueness. The design process remains “universally same”, the 4 simple elements of “what, when, where, and WHY”

Ms. Pascale emphasized that incorporating trends/interior styles into design requires in-depth research into the surrounding factors. The trend/style has to be relevant in the local context, and its functionality is based on the lifestyle/tradition and heritage. The designers need to integrate local values to create unique experiences that stand the test of time.

A lively and engaging atmosphere was created through Ms. Pascale’s standout examples and valuable advice. She highlighted that design inspiration can stem from observations of the surrounding environment, from minute details to broader perspectives.

One key takeaway from Ms. Pascale’s extensive career, working on major projects both domestically and internationally, is the importance of constantly asking “why” during the design process, and WHY the brand/project/product becomes successful in the long term. This insight sparked numerous questions from students, which Pascale answered thoroughly, providing them with a deeper understanding of the design journey.

Committed to spreading positive values within the community, BOHO promises to continue creating valuable sharing events for the future generation of designers.
